Sydney, 27 August 2010 - The One Minto Project has been awarded another key industry accolade: the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) ‘Affordable Development‘ Award.
One Minto was recognised for its affordable and collaborative approach to revitalising the former Minto public housing estate to deliver 1,150 quality homes within a reconfigured community where new public houses are scattered amongst a larger majority of affordable private housing.
UDIA judges were impressed by One Minto’s delivery of a high proportion of affordable housing in amongst high standards of public open space. The Project is now establishing a model or benchmark for the urban renewal of other public housing estates.
Covering an area of 120 hectares, One Minto offers detached residential land lots priced from $150,000 (434sqm) to $285,000 (1179sqm) to $415,000 (4,000sqm). A large variety of house and land packages are available from the One Minto Builder Team, including AV Jennings, Clarendon Residential, Rawson Homes and Wisdom Homes, and range in price from approximately $330,000 to $600,000, accommodating all buyers.

Once complete, One Minto will create a new community with $10 million worth of community facilities including six new parks with BBQs and play equipment; a new $2.4 million community centre; upgraded childcare facilities and landscaped streets and footpaths.
The UDIA is Australia’s peak representative body for all segments of the urban development industry.
